Uploading is the process of sending file corrections to National.
The process is quite straight forward and requires only a couple of click selections.
....That is unless you have AOL, MSN or a similar service which won't allow you to e-mail out from other applications. In those cases, I would suggest getting a free HOTMAIL account. John Bradley states that if you get the "right" fixes off the website it will work but is vague on which fixes he is referring to. AOL flat out states that sending data from within the DB2000 program can't be done. Who are you going to believe?
If you are having trouble binding the DB2000 output file to you mail program automatically, you might be able to send it by attaching it by hand. It is a CRB file loaded in your DB2000 folder
Start by verifying your upload eligibility. If the annual password has changed, be sure to enter the new password here.

Now start the upload process.

Your options are:
- Add - which adds a record selected from the drop-down list to the left.
- Remove - which removes a selected records
- Add all which brings up the warning message:

- Remove all - which brings up a serious warning message:

- AT - adds all records which were tagged on the Roster screen - WATCH OUT! By default all records are tagged. Therefore all records might be added and you may need to go record by record to delete unchanged records you don't want to added to the list or use the 'Remove All' which means you WILL have to go thru the steps listed below to prevent corrections from being lost.
The (Main Screen, File menu) and (File menu main) referred to in the above warning messages refer to the same step. Discard your changes before exiting DB2000.

Once you are satisfied with the updated information, Click SEND.
THIS DOES NOT SEND THE DATA! It prepares a file which will be sent in a following next step.

The Email File button opens the e-mail client installed on your computer such as Outlook or Eudora. You might be greeted with the message which is built in to the e-mail client to warn you about sending messages you didn't intend to send. Click OK

This screen clip is from my Eudora email client, which shows the sender; the application applied subject; and the file which is being sent. Click send to FINALLY send the file
This shows the file being sent has a .crb extension. The name will be SQUAY followed by your squadron letters. The number was added by windows because it is the 4th SQUAYC file in the attachments folder
Upload File For this option, which sends the data directly to National, you must be connected to the Internet.and on-line. You should be greeted with the following process icon and timer. When the process is complete, an icon will appear in the center of the screen.
and
However, if you get this error message,

You will need to go back to the DB2000 web site and download and install the following patch.

Place this download where you placed the original DB2000 files. Run setup and allow the program to load to its default locations. MQ.DLL should now be in the
C:\Windows\Program Files\DB2000V3. (assuming that you loaded using the defaults.)
Try uploading again.
